1st foal born as I was getting ready to leave for the Manawatu Show, a dark brown colt for Phoenician Granted by Phoenician Black Gold, looks to be every bit as nice as last years filly.

Once again Molly and Jesse up against each other, this time Lancelot went over Avalon, Champion & Reserve Champion Novice Intermediate ponies. Team Phoenician 2010
I am most fortunate to be able to call on an amazing set of friends come show time who would have to be some of the best in the business. There is always someone around to help when needed and when it comes to a ‘big one’ their combined skills are second to none, no stress!! And great company.
The Nationals were our first major show with Phoenician Avalon (Radway Talk of the Town x Rathowen Somersette) AKA ‘Shorty’ in her first season and first big show. Jesse Linton has been her jockey and this has also been his first season show riding. He did a great job with her and won his Novice class, Champion Novice and won his Newcomer and went Reserve Champion Newcomer. Mandy McCutcheon took over the ride for the Melville Black Memorial and pulled it off beautifully with a fantastic win. Our big 155cm colt, Phoenician Black Gold (Kirreway All-Stars x Rathowen Skye Blue) – all pony breeding!! Shown by Sam Elder won his Led Hack 3 year old class and also went Champion Young Stock for the second year running.
Mandy also had a great day with her mount Skibbereen Manequin (Radway Talk of the Town x Phoenician Fancy) taking out the Grand Champion Galloway.
Shorty and Jesse’s next outing was the HB Showing Championships were they won open and Champion 138cm pony and achieved an amazing 2nd overall on the day. My little colt, Beeswing Tempting (Imp Aust) (Rosedale Tempting x Syon Serenade (UK)) AKA ‘Indy’, was very well shown by Brandon East from the Ngalaire Stud. They won their yearling class and went on to be Champion Youngstock.
HOY was the next big one and the full team was called in. Indy was first out with a combined effort of Brandon and myself he won his yearling class. Shorty with Jesse on board was always in the Newcomer ribbons both in show pony and paced and mannered lead ups. They took second place in Newcomer Pony of the Year, it was great to watch and a wonderful bit of riding. My thanks to our ‘team’, Mandy ready to step in if needed, Sam always there ringside with help and encouragement, Liz and Candace two of the best grooms and not to forget Jesse and Brandon - sometimes trouble but always fun.

Four chestnut weanling geldings for sale!
Our season started with the birth of four chestnut colts, all by Langtree Just So. So much for our attempt at introducing new bloodlines!! However they are all lovely quality foals and as stated above - all for sale. Their dams are: Rathowen Somersette (Imp Aust), Somersette is the full sister of Rathowen Saxony, the 2009 Canberra Royal Supreme ridden pony, Phoenician Mahjong, Phoenician Granted, Phoenician Poem.
Our season started in October at the Hawkes Bay A & P show where we took Phoenician Mahjong with her Langtree Just So foal at foot and Phoenician Dancing Queen, a yearling by Radway Talk of the Town and from Hopefield Fairy Queen. All three won their classes and P Mahjong went on to be Reserve Champion Adult and also took the PBS Adult Sash.
The New Zealand Nationals was a successful show for the stud. Our own Phoenician Black Gold, very well shown by Sam Elder won his age class and then went on to take home the Youngstock Hack Champion. Other Phoenician ponies to do well were Phoenician Speedway for Amanda Clayton, Phoenician Mirage for Ashlee Moroney and Phoenician Overture for Stephanie Santo. Llanon Pillow Talk had an exceptional show and Hopefield All Talk also had a good show, both of these ponies are by Radway Talk of the Town. Llanon Pillow Talk continued her winning way a couple of weeks later at the Dannevirke A & P where she went Supreme Champion Pony.
Phoenician Dancing Queen had a couple of great days, one at the Masterton A & P where she went Champion Youngstock and the other at the East Coast Horse and Pony Show. She won her height class, went on to win overall Pony Movement, Champion Youngstock and Supreme Pony in hand. Phoenician Black Gold also won his height class, Youngstock Hack Movement and Champion Hack Youngstock.
The ponies continued to do well through to the HOY where the Galloways hit a new high with two Phoenicians – Galaxy and Mirage in the ribbons along with the young mare Skibbereen Manequin (Radway Talk of the Town x Phoenician Fancy). Manequin came up to HOY after having an exceptional SI Grand Nationals Show. She won near everything that she competed in under saddle and this was under three different overseas judges – Champion Novice Galloway, Champion Novice Park Hack, Rebecca Peters Memorial Cup, Grand National Open Park Hack – not too bad for a four year old.
Phoenician Speedway carried the flag for the stud in the Hunter pony section HOY with his huge win – Hunter Pony of the Year 2009. What a lovely way to end the season, congratulations to Amanda Clayton his owner/rider.

Phoenician Morgan le Faye (Radway Talk of the Town (imp UK) x Rathowen Somersette (imp Australia)). Very lightly shown for the first time in 2008. Reserve Champion Youngstock at Masterton A&P and Champion Youngstock at the East Coast In Hand Show.
Congratulations to Pip Taylor and In Your Dreams (Radway Talk of the Town x Rathowen Skye Blue) on winning Novice and Open Park Hack at Gisborne A&P 2007, then going on to win Supreme over all Paced and Mannered of the show. The pair also won also won Champion Novice Park Hack at Hawkes Bay A&P October 2007. The two continued in their winning way ending the year with Paced and Mannered Park Hack of the Year.
A proud moment for the stud with In Your Dreams Champion and Tattle Tale Reserve Champion Open Park Hack at the Waipukarau A&P, both Park Hacks by Radway Talk of the Town.
Our condolences to Liz Kingston as she lost Tattle Tale shortly after this success. He had had a sparkling career both in hand and just starting out under saddle, never coming home without a wide ribbon.
